All temperature-sensitive products from the manufacturers in our range of food supplements, animal feed, etc. are designed to withstand a brief rise in ambient temperature without any problems.

Probiotics generally prefer cool conditions. To compensate for losses during shipping and storage from the outset, a significantly larger quantity is filled into the capsules than is stated on the tin. The aim is to ensure that, even at the end of the best-before date, the capsules still contain as many viable bacteria as stated.

Fish oils, algae oil and krill oil are protected against oxidation by the addition of vitamin E. According to our manufacturers, a slight rise in temperature for 1–2 days during transport does not affect them, but afterwards they should be stored in a cool place again or, depending on the product, in the fridge.

To protect the goods from excessive heat, in summer or when temperatures exceed 25 degrees, we only dispatch such products from Monday to Thursday. In the event of extremely high temperatures of 30 degrees or above, we recommend postponing your purchase until temperatures have dropped again.
Of course, our customers are free to decide for themselves. However, we do not accept returns of products on the grounds of ‘heat damage’ if the weather conditions were known at the time of purchase.

A safe alternative: refrigerated delivery!

When purchasing heat-sensitive products (probiotics, enzymes, oils), we recommend booking refrigerated delivery, which can easily be arranged via the checkout function; this is listed on our site as a standard product.

We will then include ice packs – as many as you purchase – and take extra care to insulate the goods.
The more you purchase, the safer and cooler the transport will be.

The insulation and the -18 degrees temperature of the ice packs are sufficient to keep the goods significantly cooler for 12–24 hours.
Even if it may no longer be cold when it reaches the customer, the heat exposure during transport will have been well below the maximum limit specified by the manufacturers.

And our customers also get added value in return: These are standard ice packs, which are hardly any cheaper to buy in shops. This means they can simply be reused in the home afterwards.
The ice packs are suitable for a temperature range of -18° Celsius to +40° Celsius, so they can also be used, for example, as a heat pack to apply to tense muscles or similar.

Safety note: The ice packs are sealed and are not intended to be opened, with the contents replaced, or for the liquid to be consumed!
