Loyalty discount – loyalty pays off
Customers who have been with us for a long time are rewarded for their loyalty – with a loyalty discount. That means: progressively better discount levels when a total spend is reached through further orders!
Loyalty discounts are a popular tool in many shops to reward regular customers and encourage them to stay. After a while you reach special prices that you cannot get anywhere else.
As a rule, shops usually add together the sales of the year or the last 12 months. For us, the loyalty discount counts sales from the last 3 years!
The loyalty discount applies exclusively to a purchase made directly via a full customer account at www.energyvital.de. No loyalty discount can be granted on orders placed via a guest account or via Hood.de.
The reason:
- Our loyalty discount is technically controlled by a plugin. This is tied to the customer account. Customers who order with the option "do not create a customer account" have their "guest account" deleted after 2–3 weeks as requested; on that basis you cannot accumulate spend-based loyalty discounts.
- Purchases via Hood.de are not recorded in our shop software at all. In addition, we already pay enough in Hood sales commissions, so no further discounts are possible. Would you like the discount to go to you and not to Hood? Simply order directly in our online shop!
The total spend is automatically tracked directly in the personal account, so customers should always use only one customer account and not create a new one with every order; otherwise the discount cannot be used.
For telephone orders the loyalty discount is granted on request.
As a rule the loyalty discount is only possible when ordering via a customer account.
But of course we do not want to disadvantage our many senior customers who often do not have a PC. They are still welcome to benefit from our discounts by telephone; they should, however, remind us during the call that they cannot order by PC but have ordered many times and would like to benefit from the loyalty discount. Then we can determine your discount in the software over the phone and let you know.
Customers who are comfortable using a PC or smartphone can automatically benefit from our discounts when ordering on their device.
Limitation to fee-free payment methods
Unfortunately we can only reward one – either our customers for their loyalty or PayPal for its service. We can't do both, because otherwise there would be nothing left for us.
Therefore the loyalty discount only applies when prepayment or purchase on account is selected as the payment method. For all other payment methods we already have to pay at least 3% to the payment providers – then there is unfortunately no room left for additional discounts.
In our newsletter we had announced that the loyalty discount would be excluded for all paid payment methods. However, we have since found that this would be problematic for many customers. This affects, for example, our Dutch customers who use iDEAL, our Belgian customers who pay with Bancontact, or other international customers who rely on a credit card payment. A bank transfer from abroad is not always easy and is often not free.
Therefore we have, for the time being, implemented this restriction only for PayPal. That means: if a customer chooses PayPal as the payment method, the loyalty discount is automatically hidden in the shop.
For all other payment methods such as iDEAL or credit card, the loyalty discount currently still works. Nevertheless we would be pleased if you – where possible – choose prepayment or purchase on account. This helps us keep the costs for payment service providers low and continue to offer the loyalty discount in the long term.
If we find that customers, despite free payment methods being available, regularly choose paid payment methods such as credit card, we reserve the right to deactivate the loyalty discount for those payment methods in future.
