Immunformel Pro is a comprehensive formula for the immune system

It contains vitamins A, C and D as well as selenium and zinc - all of these components have a positive effect on resistance in their own way. The amount required for daily support is contained in just one capsule, but if the need is greater in the short term, the dose can be temporarily increased to two capsules per day. The special feature of this product is the high dose of quercetin in the easily absorbable phytosomal form (Quercefit®). Interest in the effects of the immune system has never been greater. Many people are currently looking for options to maintain their own resilience. The immune system consists of a highly complex system of cells (such as T cells, B cells, natural killer cells and macrophages) and molecules (such as cytokines [messenger substances] and immunoglobulins [antibodies]) that defend the body. A healthy and varied diet, sufficient exercise and enough sleep are helpful for optimal and balanced functioning of the immune system. For many people, it can be useful to use nutritional supplements to increase the intake of certain micronutrients. Quercetin (Quercefit®)

Quercetin is the ingredient in this product with the highest dosage. Quercetin is one of the most important and thoroughly researched bioflavonoids. Immunformel Pro uses quercetin, which is marketed under the brand name Quercefit® by the Italian company Indena. The doses of 500 mg and 1000 mg Quercefit®, which have already been used in several human studies, correspond to these. Quercefit® contains quercetin, which is extracted from the flowers of the honey tree (Sophora japonica). Thanks to the patented Phytosome® technology, Immunformel Pro has a significantly increased absorption and bioavailability of quercetin. The Greek origin of the term phytosome lies in the words phuton (plant) and soma (body). The patented manufacturing process reduces the natural clumping of certain hard-to-absorb phytonutrients (such as quercetin) and combines them with phospholipids (fosfatidylcholine) from sunflower lecithin. The active ingredients are not enclosed in a capsule (as in liposomes); instead, a homogeneous mixture of small, easily absorbable particles is created. It is true that bioflavonoids (e.g. quercetin) have a natural affinity for phospholipids. Phytosomes are formed to which the bioflavonoids adhere to the phospholipids. This results in particularly good absorption. The cell membranes (like those of the small intestine cells) consist of a phospholipid bilayer. As a result, these phytosomes can easily penetrate the intestinal wall and their active ingredients enter the bloodstream. According to studies, this Phytosome® technology improves the absorption and bioavailability of quercetin by a factor of 10 to 20.

Vitamin A

In the body, vitamin A (retinol) is converted into the active retinoic acid form. In this form, it is involved in various biochemical and physiological processes in the cells. Vitamin A helps to maintain the integrity of epithelial cells throughout the body and thus promotes the condition of mucous membranes (e.g. in the lungs and intestines). Vitamin A is also important for a well-functioning immune system. It promotes the development and growth of T cells and is important for the normal function of other immune cells such as macrophages. Finally, it helps to maintain the balance between T helper cells 1 (Th1) and T helper cells 2 (Th2) - which is important for a balanced immune response. Immune Formula Pro is free from beta-carotene (pro-vitamin A) and contains a safe amount of vitamin A. The body therefore needs pro-vitamin A to maintain a healthy immune response. Therefore, the body does not need to convert pro-vitamin A into vitamin A.

Vitamin C

In the body, vitamin C acts as a water-soluble antioxidant and plays a key role in scavenging free radicals. It is part of a complex system that includes the body's own antioxidants, dietary antioxidants and antioxidant enzymes and is characterised by mutual dependencies and interactions. In this function, it protects DNA, proteins and fats from oxidative damage and thus contributes to the maintenance of healthy cells and tissue. Vitamin C also has a positive influence on the immune system: it contributes to the formation and maintenance of the proper function of immune cells. Vitamin C also helps maintain energy levels and can help combat fatigue. Immunformel Pro contains a basic amount of vitamin C (100% of the reference intake per capsule), exactly as much as the capsule contains.

Vitamin D3 (Vitamin D3V®)

Vitamin D is a vitamin that is not found in significant quantities in our diet, but is mainly produced by sunlight on the skin. Of course, this depends on sufficient sun exposure, which is by no means guaranteed in countries such as the Netherlands or Germany. Vitamin D has an immunomodulatory effect. It helps to keep the immune system in a normal balance - neither overactive nor underactive. Vitamin D receptors are found on various cells involved in the immune system, such as T-cells, B-cells and macrophages. Vitamin D makes a significant contribution to supporting the immune system. In terms of effectiveness, the form of vitamin D3 as a dietary supplement is clearly preferable to vitamin D2. One disadvantage of vitamin D3, however, is that it is normally obtained from sheep's wool fat, which makes it unsuitable for vegans. Immunformel Pro therefore utilises a more advanced form of vitamin D3 from algae (Vitamin D3V®), making Immunformel Pro suitable for those on a vegan diet. Vitamin K2 (K2VITAL™ DELTA)

The most prominent function of vitamin K in the body is to support normal blood clotting. Vitamin K activates certain blood clotting factors that are dependent on its action. These ensure that blood clotting takes place optimally - not too quickly and not too slowly. Vitamin K and vitamin D interact with each other in different ways. It is therefore better to take these nutrients together. There are two forms of vitamin K, with vitamin K2 having a more comprehensive effect than vitamin K1. There are different forms of vitamin K2, which is also known as menaquinone (abbreviated to MK). Menaquinone-7 (MK-7) is considered to be the most effective form according to current scientific knowledge. MK-7 is easily absorbed and remains effective in the body over a long period of time due to its long half-life. The doses of this vitamin contained in Immunformel Pro have proven to be effective in clinical studies. The quality of the vitamin K2 used also plays a role, as vitamin K2 is known to be very unstable. The vitamin K2 content of a dietary supplement can decrease rapidly if it is combined with minerals or certain excipients. Of course, you want to avoid this at all costs, as the product should ideally be stored for the entire duration of its shelf life. The Norwegian manufacturer Balchem has created a raw material for vitamin K2 that is optimally protected against external influences. Selenium

Selenium belongs to the group of essential trace elements. Selenium is found in animal and plant products in both organic form (such as selenomethionine or selenocysteine) and inorganic form (such as selenite or selenate). The body absorbs the organic forms one and a half to twice as well as the inorganic forms. In Europe, especially among vegetarians, selenium intake is low. This is mainly due to the fact that soils in Europe are low in selenium and plants therefore contain less selenium. Selenium has a significant antioxidant effect. Some enzymes (seleno-enzymes), such as glutathione peroxidase (GPx), are dependent on selenium and make a significant contribution to scavenging free radicals. One example is selenium, which helps to prevent oxidative damage. Selenium also boosts the immune system by contributing to the formation of T cells. It also contributes to the proper functioning of natural killer cells.

Zinc (TRAACS®)

Zinc has a positive effect on the immune system by supporting T-cell production, promoting cytokine production and contributing to the function of natural killer cells. Zinc also helps protect cells from oxidative damage, including through its role in the antioxidant enzymes catalase and superoxide dismutase (SOD). Zinc supports the normal metabolism of vitamin A, whereby it interacts with it. Zinc is contained in Immunformel Pro as zinc bisglycinate. Each zinc particle is powerfully combined (chelated) with two (bis) molecules of the amino acid glycine. Such a compound is generally referred to as an amino acid chelate or amino acid chelated mineral. The Greek term "chelate" means "claw". This type of compound was chosen because of its particularly good bioavailability. And Vitals only uses genuine amino acid chelates from Albion Minerals, labelled with the TRAACS® brand, which stands for The Real Amino Acid Chelate System. This ensures that a chelate is actually present and not just a combination of a mineral and an amino acid, which some manufacturers falsely sell as an amino acid chelate.

Recommended dosage

Take 1 capsule per day with water with a (fat-containing) meal. If there is an increased requirement, temporarily take 1 capsule twice a day.
