Melatonin is a hormone produced naturally in the body and is important for our natural sleep-wake rhythm. When it gets dark, the body produces more melatonin and we become tired. However, stress, bright light, long summer days, a changed sleep rhythm or age can disrupt this process and make it difficult to fall asleep. This is where Schlaf Balance plus can help: each capsule contains 1 mg melatonin, which has been proven to help you fall asleep faster.
The special thing about this mixture is that St. Helia deliberately does not use individual, high-dose substances. Melatonin is combined with 5-HTP from the black bean (Griffonia simplicifolia), from which the body can produce melatonin itself if required. Schlaf Balance Plus also contains selected herbs from different parts of the world.
Who is melatonin particularly suitable for?
Not everyone produces the same amount of melatonin and personal requirements can also vary.
The body starts to sleep later, the day-night rhythm is shifted, travelling with a time difference is imminent - melatonin can help to alleviate the feeling of jet lag. With increasing age (from around 50 years), the body produces noticeably less melatonin.
Plant knowledge from around the world - 6 good helpers for the evening
In addition to melatonin and its precursor 5-HTP, Schlaf Balance plus contains six special plants that have long been valued in various countries:- Valerian, hops, passion flower and lavender - well-known plants from European herbalism. Lavender is contained twice: as a fine essential oil and as a ground flower.
- Saffron is a very expensive spice that is painstakingly extracted by hand from the threads of thousands of real saffron flowers (Crocus sativus).
- Ashwagandha: Each capsule contains 100 mg ashwagandha extract, including 5 mg withanolides. The extract comes from the root of Withania somnifera, also known as "sleeping berry" or "Indian ginseng", which has long been used in Ayurvedic medicine.
This blend is good for anyone who wants to relax more easily in the evening and sleep better.

- Melatonin helps to shorten the time it takes to fall asleep. The positive effect occurs when 1 mg of melatonin is taken shortly before going to bed.
- Melatonin helps to alleviate the subjective feeling of jet lag. The positive effect occurs when at least 0.5 mg is taken shortly before going to bed on the first day of travelling and in the first few days after arriving at the destination.

Ingredients
Black bean extract (25 % 5-HTP from Griffonia simplicifolia), ashwagandha extract, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose capsule (vegetable), valerian root dry extract, passion flower dry extract (contains 2 % flavonoids), hop cone extract, ground lavender flowers, anti-caking agent: Medium-chain triglycerides from coconut (MCT oil), melatonin, saffron, lavender oil.
Recommended dosage
1 capsule daily, 30 to 60 minutes before going to bed.
Important information
Not suitable for pregnant women, nursing mothers, children and adolescents under the age of 18. Do not drive or operate machinery after taking this product, as your ability to react may be impaired. If taking medication, only consume after consulting a doctor.
Tips
- Darkness promotes the body's own melatonin production, while daylight and blue light (e.g. from screens) inhibit it. Reducing bright light and avoiding blue light in the last hour or two before going to bed (e.g. by using a blue light filter, night mode or dimming) can also help you fall asleep.
- When travelling with a time difference, it is advisable to start taking melatonin one day before departure. This can help to adjust the day-night rhythm to the destination more quickly.

Store in a cool, dry place away from light (not in the refrigerator).
