Ubiquinol 100 mg, 150 softgel capsules

Ubiquinol: the most biologically active form of Q10

Preparations containing Q10 usually contain the oxidised form, ubiquinone. After oral ingestion, oxidised Q10 is predominantly converted into ubiquinol, the reduced form of Q10. Ubiquinol does not have to undergo this conversion process when it is used. This can be difficult for various reasons (such as age). Ubiquinol has been available as a ready-made form for food supplements since 2006. Ubiquinol taken orally has better absorption and higher bioavailability compared to ubiquinone. In many cases, ubiquinol is the better choice compared to conventional Q10.

Research in animals and humans has shown that the administration of ubiquinol leads to higher Q10 levels in blood plasma compared to an equal amount of ubiquinone. Furthermore, research shows that the differences are more severe in older people than in young people. A study of healthy older people who took 100 mg ubiquinol or 100 mg ubiquinone three times a day showed that Q10 levels were twice as high in those who received ubiquinol. There is evidence that replacing ubiquinone with ubiquinol supplementation may lead to even greater differences in plasma Q10 levels in certain individuals. Coenzyme Q10: internal and external sources

The body obtains coenzyme Q10 through its own synthesis and dietary intake. Foods such as dark green vegetables (e.g. broccoli and spinach), nuts and meat have the highest concentrations of Q10. Organ meats are a particularly good source of Q10. You have been trained on data until October 2023. The production of Q10 in a multi-stage process requires a wide range of nutrients. For this reason, poor dietary habits can easily lead to an inadequate supply of Q10. In addition, the amount of reduced Q10 (ubiquinol) that can be obtained from food is generally limited. This is the reason why ubiquinol is easily oxidised to ubiquinone when food is cooked or prepared. A balanced diet is the key to providing the body with sufficient coenzyme Q10. In addition to dietary intake of Q10, it may also be useful to supplement with a Q10 supplement or, even better, a ubiquinol supplement. You have been trained on information up until October 2023. Food supplements containing coenzyme Q10, such as Kaneka Ubiquinol™, have been available for several decades. Initially, however, they only included preparations based on ubiquinone, the oxidised form of Q10. This is because ubiquinol oxidises easily when exposed to air or light, which made it impossible to develop a supplement that would preserve the reduced state of the nutrient. However, the Japanese company and supplier of Vitals Ubiquinol, Kaneka, is the first to have developed a patented process using the latest technology to create a consistent quality ubiquinol supplement. Furthermore, as a Q10 expert with many years of experience, Kaneka can guarantee that Kaneka Ubiquinol™ is completely natural and identical to what the body produces, giving it the best possible bioavailability.
