Laboratory analysis of D-arabinitol in urine to detect excessive yeast growth in the gut
Arabinitol occurs as a sugar alcohol in the form of D- and L-arabinitol. These can be detected in small quantities in the serum and urine of healthy people. If there is increased colonisation by yeasts in the small intestine, the D-arabinitol concentration also rises. The reason for this is that only D-arabinitol is produced by Candida spp., such as Candida albicans, C. tropicalis and C. parapsilosis.
If the concentration of D-arabinitol rises, its ratio to L-arabinitol also changes.
As the concentration of D-arabinitol in urine is proportional to its concentration in serum, a heavy yeast load leads to a significant increase in the concentration of D-arabinitol in both serum and urine.

You place your sample in a sample container, send it in a pre-prepared envelope to Mediveres’ partner laboratory, GANZIMMUN Diagnostics GmbH, and will receive a report with an assessment of your profile within 10–14 days.

Around 50 % of our customers are sent to us by their therapist and know exactly what they need. As a retailer, we are only allowed to provide limited information, even though we are qualified to do so. This is regulated by law because of the conflict of interest between sales and therapy, which is why doctors, for example, are not allowed to sell medicines or vitamins.
