Goodness from the fruit of the oak!
The acorn is a natural fruit in Germany. For thousands of years, this land was predominantly covered with oak trees until the enormous forests had to give way to man, e.g. for the construction of large fleets, houses and to gain pasture land. In the Middle Ages and in prehistoric times, the acorn was therefore a normal foodstuff. It has a high nutritional value and a high content of B vitamins, minerals and secondary plant substances.
It is inedible raw due to its high tannin content, but this can be removed by treatment.
