In contrast to the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K, the B vitamins are water-soluble. Our body can hardly store them, if at all. This is why we have to constantly take them in with our food. Meat, fish, eggs, milk, wholemeal products, cereals and pulses are particularly rich in B vitamins, while only cobalamin (vitamin B12) is found exclusively in animal products. It can be particularly useful for people who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet to take vitamin B12 as a dietary supplement. Why B vitamins are important
