The Bifidobacterium longum fibre complex combines resistant maize starch, inulin from chicory and microencapsulated bacteria of the Bifidobacterium longum strain. This mixture provides the optimum support for a regular fibre supply: the resistant maize starch cannot be broken down by the digestive enzymes in the intestine and provides food for many intestinal bacteria. Inulin is also a valuable fibre from a plant source and is indigestible for humans. The complex is rounded off by the germ Bifidobacterium longum. This is also contained in the natural intestinal flora of humans and can support the natural pH value by converting sugar into lactic and acetic acid.
