Only for Germany and Austria
- We would like to point out that these tests and the shipping processes are optimized for Germany and Austria and are prepaid.
- Samples must be delivered to the German laboratory within 4 days. This cannot be guaranteed for samples shipped from other countries!
- Orders from countries other than Germany and Austria are therefore at your own risk. In this case, we only accept the payment method "Prepayment (directly to us)", as customers cannot then cancel the purchase, e.g., because the sample arrived at the laboratory unusable through their own fault. Purchases made with any other payment methods that customers could unlawfully reverse will be immediately canceled and refunded.

The amino acid histidine is one of the tissue hormones.
If histamine degradation is suboptimal, especially if large amounts of histamine accumulate and the histamine-degrading enzymes such as diamine oxidase (DAO) and histamine N-methyltransferase (HNMT) are insufficiently active in the liver, an excessive amount of histamine can develop in the body. Histamine intolerance (HIT) is therefore a sign of an imbalance between the amount of histamine produced and its breakdown. It is not only foods with a high histamine content that influence the amount of histamine in the body: an excessive number of histamine-producing bacteria in the gut, allergies or medication that inhibits the breakdown of histamine can also have an impact.
The symptoms that typically occur with histaminosis can be varied. Excessive histamine levels can lead to circulatory problems, headaches, shortness of breath, allergy-like symptoms and skin rashes. However, gastrointestinal complaints such as stomach pain, heartburn, cramps, flatulence and diarrhoea are also possible. This urine test is used to determine histamine and its metabolites in urine.
In the intestine, the main degradation of histamine is carried out by the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO), which produces imidazole acetaldehyde and imidazole acid. As a second intracellular degradation pathway, histamine is converted by N-methyltransferase into the products N-methylhistamine, N-methylimidazoleacetaldehyde and N-methylimidazoleacetic acid. The relationships between N-methylhistamine and histamine as well as imidazoleacetic acid and histamine provide insights into the function of DAO and the activity of HNMT.
The following parameters are analysed:
- Histamine
- imidazoleacetic acid
- Imidazoleacetic acid/histamine ratio
- N-methylhistamine
- N-methylimidazoleacetic acid
- Ratio N-methylhistamine/histamine Diagnosis
The results form the basis for a customised therapy, which should only be carried out after consultation with a doctor or therapist.
The test kit contains
- 1 instruction for sample collection
- 1 urine beaker
- 1 yellow urine tube (urine monovette)
- 1 yellow tip
- 1 shipping container for urine monovette
- 1 envelope
How does the ordering process work?
After placing your order, you will be sent the desired test pack with detailed instructions. You put your sample in a sample container, send it in a prepared envelope to Medivere's partner laboratory GANZIMMUN Diagnostics GmbH and receive a report with the evaluation of your profile after 5-7 days.
Only for Germany and Austria
We would like to point out that these tests and the shipping procedures are optimised and pre-paid for Germany and Austria. Orders from further afield are problematic because the perishable biological samples may only be in transit for a limited time (maximum 4 days). Customers from Switzerland or other EU countries can of course try it at their own risk, but if the test fails, we decline any responsibility or reimbursement. Reaching your goal better with sensible diagnostics!
Around 50 % of our customers are sent to us by their therapist and know exactly what they need. Many others have extensive medical knowledge, but many also buy "on suspicion" without really knowing exactly what they need. For these customers, it would make a lot of sense to first determine their exact needs and possible deficiencies. Customers who buy a test from us are offered a short health consultation with a nutritionist to clarify what would be the best product for them.
In addition, they receive a 10% voucher for their first purchase after receiving their test result. And we are happy to put them in touch with the expert therapists with whom we are in contact. As a retailer, we are only allowed to provide limited information, even though we are qualified to do so. This is regulated by law because of the conflict of interest between sales and therapy, which is why doctors, for example, are not allowed to sell medicines or vitamins.
