Our freshness guarantee

Not every jar or can is sold within days. Some are stored for several months, which is not really a problem with best-before dates of 2-5 years.
This is not a problem for us, as our warehouse is constantly air-conditioned. In summer it never exceeds 21 degrees, from October to April no cooling is necessary, it stays below 20 degrees on its own.
For comparison: Amazon is unfortunately extremely popular with customers, perhaps because they are dazzled by cheap prices and pay too little attention to the details...
We once made an enquiry to Amazon about their storage temperatures.

We were told by Amazon on 8 January 2018:"In general, we cannot guarantee a cold chain. If the products are in transit, they must be able to withstand the outside temperatures. Otherwise, a general storage temperature of 10°C to 30°C applies from 15 October to 30 April."
It is up to each customer to judge for themselves what sense such storage makes for products labelled "store in a cool and dry place" or, as in the case of algae oils, "store only in the refrigerator".
Many of the brands we stock can also be ordered directly from other retailers on Amazon, especially those from EnergyBalance andPodomedi. Even the semi-moist feed from Tales & Tailswill certainly not gain in quality through this storage... These products are then obtained "fresh" from an Amazon warehouse at 30 degrees...

Impressive evidence for this assumption can be found, for example, if you look at negative reviews of chocolate. We found this review ourselves when we were looking for "Thank you very much" chocolate cones that we like to enclose for our customers. Of course, there are many reviews from July or August where customers complain that the chocolate had melted. This probably happened during despatch and is normal when there is a heatwave.
But there certainly hadn't been a heatwave for a while at the end of September, and this entry is impressive proof that the chocolate had already melted in the warehouse during the summer and had become solid again:

You can see this in chocolate. Algae oil that is no longer beneficial to health due to decomposition, but harmful to health, does not look like this...

We cancelled our cooperation with Amazon in 2022!
Our goods are always well chilled, which we can prove with a long-term log of the storage temperature!Other fulfilment providers are no better than Amazon, we had asked a few, refrigeration is not common anywhere. We were either told this in writing or the FBA providers didn't get in touch at all; not a single one reported a special warehouse for food supplements and foodstuffs.
Unfortunately, we don't know what the situation is like for other small online shops that stock the same products as we do. But presumably not many will accept air conditioning costs of around 100 euros per month for 10 square metres of storage space.
In addition, from July to August we only dispatch temperature-sensitive goods from Monday to Thursday, unless the temperatures are low enough over the weekend.
Customers can also do something for their own safety and order frozen batterieswith their algae oil or Life Security drink, which we then enclose in the well-insulated parcel.
But even if a customer doesn't think about it, we remember and add frozen batteries at our discretion. This is at our expense and also depends on the respective packer in our warehouse as to how they assess this. It is safer to actively order batteries, especially as they are cheaper from us than from normal retailers and can be used throughout the summer.
