Organically bound iron with vitamin B12 and herbs

St. Helia's "Multi Iron Complex" contains highly concentrated iron, which supplies the body with 100% of the daily recommended amount of iron. For particularly high requirements, twice as much iron as in St. Helia's well-known "Multi Iron". It also contains vitamin B12 and various herbs.

Powerful and alert with Multi-Iron!

Oxygen, which makes us powerful and alert, is transported in the blood by the "haemoglobin taxi". If the haemoglobin taxi has too little oxygen, this can be caused by an iron deficiency. A lack of vitamin B12 or, more rarely, folic acid can also be the cause. Symptoms include extreme tiredness and listlessness and, as iron and rust tend to be red, the skin can become very pale. This can be a particular problem for people who absorb little iron (e.g. vegans) or regularly lose a lot of iron (pre-menopausal women), in which case taking iron can be useful. Iron fumarate is better tolerated than many other iron compounds.

Nutritive properties

  • Iron and vitamin B12 help to reduce tiredness and fatigue.
  • Iron and vitamin B12 contribute to normal energy metabolism.

FAQ

Multi Iron or Multi Iron Complex?

Here is an original customer question: What do you recommend? Multi Iron or Multi Iron Complex?

The main difference between the two products is the dosage. If you want to take 7 mg of iron daily, Multi Iron is the right product.
7 mg is the dosage chosen by people who only want to take general prophylaxis, for example. So e.g. vegans, women with the permanent problem, a heavy period etc.

Multi Iron Complex contains 14 mg iron per capsule. This makes sense for people who want / need to take a little more, e.g. because they already have a slight deficiency. Or people who do not have a deficiency but want to prevent it because they already have experience with it, e.g. after very heavy periods.
If the doctor has already determined a slight deficiency in the laboratory report, 14 mg or Multi Iron Complex would be more recommendable. People who are constantly losing blood due to chronic illnesses (e.g. chronic intestinal inflammation such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis) should also take regular iron supplements in an amount depending on the severity of the symptoms.

The basic rule is:

Iron is absolutely vital and the supply should always be correct. Long-term iron deficiency is harmful to the body and also to the unborn child.
However, iron is also a nutrient that should not be overdone. Too much iron is also very harmful.
So it's best to only take iron if your doctor has already recommended it or because you already have experience with a medically diagnosed iron deficiency and know that you're about to enter a phase in which you need a lot of iron.
People who eat meat and lead a healthy lifestyle and have no particular medical or gynaecological problems do not usually need to take any iron at all.
People who are already very unwell because of their iron deficiency, e.g. with very noticeable anaemia with pallor and tiredness, should first and foremost follow the recommendations of their doctor, who will probably recommend iron infusions in this case, because the amount of iron needed in an emergency at very short notice cannot be taken in capsules.
And if the doctor doesn't recommend anything despite clear anaemia, you should change doctors... Unfortunately, there are quite a few doctors who have a very limited knowledge of nutrition and nutrient deficiencies and do nothing at all in such cases apart from giving lukewarm advice (eat more meat...).

Regarding tolerance: Many doctors who are not so well informed prescribe very high doses of iron supplements from the pharmacy to patients with very severe deficiencies instead of carrying out costly and labour-intensive infusions.
However, iron is rather poorly tolerated by many people, depending on the chemical compound. It is therefore not uncommon for health problems to become worse after taking iron than before, e.g. because you have iron deficiency due to chronic intestinal inflammation, unfortunately not a rare disease. Then you swap extreme anaemia for extreme intestinal cramps, ultimately no better for the sufferer...
The chemical compound used by St. Helia Multi Iron Complexis very well tolerated, even in the 14 mg version, and we have received reports from users who have had no problems at all, even when taking higher or longer doses.
For all hypersensitive customers, we recommend Iron Active from Podomedi, which contains iron chelates that are much better tolerated than Multi Iron Complex with its iron fumarate!
Chelates are generally the highest quality and best tolerated compounds with which minerals can be absorbed!

Tolerable Upper Limit

The UL value for iron is not specified in Europe. In the USA, the Institute of Medicine has set a Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL) for iron of 45 mg per day. This is the amount that can be taken daily over a longer period of time without causing health problems.

Who should not take iron?

In general, people who have the not-so-rare hereditary disease haemochromatosis (iron storage disease) should not take iron. Depending on the source, this occurs in between 1:200 and 1:400 people.

The aim of St. Helia is to combine ancient knowledge about vitamins, minerals and medicinal herbs with the latest science. The result is products that are of very high quality and purity, yet still reasonably priced.

What does manufacturer/marketer mean?

Every seller must indicate on the goods and also in the online shop the address of a responsible person established in the EU, usually this is the manufacturer.
In general, it does not matter which term you use, they are synonymous. The legislator prefers the term "distributor", but dealers usually use the more "handy" term "manufacturer".
However, it can happen that a non-EU manufacturer does not have a responsible person on EU territory. In that case, one has the choice of not offering such a good product at all or taking responsibility oneself, e.g. for service questions from customers. St. Helia does not have an address outside Switzerland, so we indicate ourselves as the distributor and are also responsible for any questions about the product.
