Ocu Active, 60 capsules

natura felix Ocu Aktiv can support the eyes and normal vision

Our eyes are our most important sensory organ. For this reason, eye problems are a particular psychological burden for us. Even in adolescence, discomfort can occur due to computer work, driving for long periods, travelling at night, dry air and intense sunshine.
As we get older, our eyesight deteriorates and the risk of developing age-related eye diseases increases. Lifestyle and family predisposition are of great importance here. A balanced diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables, together with avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, strengthens the eyes' resistance to external influences and contributes to eye health. Supplements can also provide targeted support for the eyes with vitamins and nutrients.

Ocu Aktiv is particularly suitable for this because it

  • helps to maintain vision (Vit. A, B2)
  • promotes vision at night and at dusk (Vit. A)

Ocu Aktiv: 5 effective eye nutrients

Numerous eye supplements on the market contain substances whose beneficial effect on the eyes and vision is only suspected - but there is no scientific proof of this. Ocu Aktiv only contains nutrients whose effectiveness has been proven by many studies. These include the traditional eye vitamins A and B2, the plant antioxidants lutein and zeaxanthin from marigolds and anthocyanins from bilberry extract.
Care has also been taken to ensure that all ingredients are present in sufficient quantities. The dosage from other suppliers is often not sufficient to actually promote vision. This is due to the high purchase prices of certain ingredients. Nevertheless, the price-performance ratio of Ocu Aktiv for one capsule a day is very good.

The bioavailability of eye vitamins and vital substances is naturally increased by black pepper extract, a natural product that is widely used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine.
Ocu Aktiv contains no additives that unnecessarily burden the body. It is suitable for vegetarians and vegans as the capsule shells are made from cellulose instead of bovine gelatine.

Important vitamins for the eyes

Vitamins A (retinol) and B2 (riboflavin) help to maintain normal vision. Rhodopsin, a component of visual purple in the retina, requires vitamin A for twilight and night vision. A deficiency makes driving at night and recognising contours more difficult. Sensitivity to glare also increases. Vitamin B2 helps to protect the cornea and the lens of the eye from harmful free radicals caused by UV radiation.

Lutein and zeaxanthin, which are extracted from marigolds

Lutein and zeaxanthin, two carotenoids, are plant antioxidants. They appear to play an important role in protecting the yellow spot (Matula lutea) from free radicals, the area of the eye where vision is sharpest. In this small area in the centre of the retina, only 2 mm in size, their concentration is exceptionally high (around 10,000 times higher than in the blood).

Studies have shown that lutein and zeaxanthin have a protective effect. They intercept blue light, which is particularly harmful to the eyes. Sensory cells are damaged if there is a deficiency, which inevitably leads to a reduction in vision. So far, studies have not found any side effects from taking lutein and zeaxanthin.

Blueberry extract for the eyes

Blueberries, as bilberries are also known, contain numerous natural components that can help to strengthen eyesight. Our ancestors, such as Hildegard von Bingen, were already aware of this fact.

Anthocyanins are the most important. Like vitamin A, these plant pigments contribute to the formation of the protein rhodopsin, which is responsible for the ability to see at dusk and at night. In addition, anthocyanins are able to protect the retina from free radicals and promote microcirculation in the capillaries of the choroid. This harmonises their positive influence on declining eyesight.

Bilberry extract has proven to be very effective for problems caused by eye strain. These include dry, irritated and reddened eyes, visual disturbances, headaches and dizziness. There are several causes, including an inadequate supply of eye nutrients due to an unbalanced diet, intense sunlight, dry air and, above all, computer work (staring at a screen for hours on end).

High-quality formulations from the Netherlands

Podo medi's products are significantly influenced by the naturopathic experience of its co-founder Wolfgang P. Schallmey. However, he has been retired since 2020, which is why the "Woscha" brand has become the "natura felix" brand. The tried-and-tested recipes will remain largely the same. In addition to the logo, the packaging of many products will change significantly. The company is increasingly switching from plastic to more environmentally friendly cardboard cans.
