Laboratory chemical urine analysis of various substances to determine disorders of various metabolic pathways

Determination of vanillin mandelic acid, homovanillic acid, 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid, tryptophan, xanthurenic acid, L-kynurenine, kynurenic acid, quinolinic acid and the calculated L-kynurenine/tryptophan ratio and the kynurenic acid/L-kynurenine ratio.

Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that is metabolised under physiological conditions to the neurohormones serotonin and melatonin. In the gastrointestinal tract, serotonin influences motility, secretion and the sensation of pain. Low melatonin levels are associated with sleep disorders. Tryptophan is physiologically broken down by hepatic tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase (TDO) via the oxidative kynurenine metabolic pathway. If there are disturbances in this metabolic process (usually due to a micronutrient deficiency), this can manifest itself in different ways.

The metabolites analysed in this profile allow conclusions to be drawn about neurotransmitters, which in turn are involved in numerous pathological and physiological processes in the body. They can have neuroprotective, neurotoxic, proinflammatory, anti-inflammatory, oxidising, antioxidant and/or immunomodifying effects.

By determining the metabolites, or ratios to each other, conclusions can be drawn about possible causes. These include, for example, vitamin B6/vitamin B3 deficiency, micronutrient deficiency, reduced amino acid intake, medication intake or impaired fructose absorption in the intestine. The consequences can be depressive moods, digestive disorders, sleep disorders, anxiety and fatigue.

The urine analysis as part of the Organix® Neuro Test therefore makes it possible to recognise a possible link between somatic causes and psychological effects.

How does the ordering process work?

After your order, the desired test package will be sent to you with detailed instructions. You put your sample in a sample container, send it in a prepared envelope to Medivere's partner laboratory GANZIMMUN Diagnostics GmbH and receive a report with the evaluation of your profile after 5-7 days.
