Key ingredients and their effects

  • Antioxidants: Vitamin C and flavonoids (anthocyanins, proanthocyanidins), among others, have cell-protecting and anti-inflammatory effects.
  • Minerals: Contains sodium, potassium, phosphorus, copper, magnesium and zinc. Vitamins: Contains vitamin C, vitamin A and vitamin K.
  • Secondary plant substances (PACs): Prevent urinary tract infections by preventing bacteria from settling in the urinary tract.
  • Organic acids: contain citric and malic acid.
  • Dietary fibres: They support healthy intestinal flora and digestion.

Health benefits

  • Urinary tract infections: Works by preventing bacteria from sticking.
  • Immune system: Supports the body's defences.
  • Teeth: Can fight harmful bacteria in the mouth (of course only if the berries are chewed for a long time, which acts locally and not via the bloodstream. Swallowing capsules therefore has no effect).

  • Skin: With the help of antioxidants, skin ageing can be slowed down and acne reduced.

Application and tips

  • Eat: Fresh, dried, as juice or in the form of jam.
  • Flavour: Unprocessed, it has a raw tartness, but is often sweet and sour.
  • Quantity: Enjoy raw berries in moderation as they can be irritating.
  • Medication: Be careful when taking certain antidepressants (SSRIs) as they can interfere with the absorption of medication
