High-dose natural tocopherol mixture for better effect If you want to buy a high-quality vitamin E product, you should check the stated ingredients very carefully. Most vitamin E supplements contain only D-alpha-tocopherol, but studies have shown that a natural mixture of α-, β-, γ-, δ-tocopherol (mixed tocopherols) is much more effective than alpha-tocopherol alone or the sum of the individual substances.
However, mixtures of all four tocopherols are not necessarily as high quality as they first appear: Almost all vitamin E products are derived from soya, which is known to cause allergies. Particularly cheap products may even contain tocopherol from genetically modified soya.
