What are salvestrols?

Salvestrols belong to the group of secondary plant substances known as phytoalexins. Secondary plant metabolites are substances that plants produce to protect themselves against bacteria, insects, moulds, UV light and viruses.

Discovery of salvestrols and their importance

Professor Burke from the UK described the discovery of salvestrols as "the most significant breakthrough in nutrition since the discovery of vitamins". Dr John Briffa also chose salvestrols as the best idea in the health sector.
Nowadays, fruit and vegetables are usually treated with pesticides, which means that the plant loses the incentive to produce salvestrols. One of the reasons for this is that our diet contains few salvestrols.
Nowadays, however, salvestrols are only found in significant quantities in organically grown fruit and vegetables. It is advisable to consume Salvestrol® daily.

The Salvestrol point system:

Nature's Defence researchers developed a point system to calculate the amounts of Salvestrol in our diet to ensure adequate supply. The Salvestrol point system is based on the minimum daily amount of Salvestrol included during the Victorian era (1837 to 1901).
In the 19th century diet, 12 mg of Salvestrol was equivalent to 100 points. The minimum amount that should be taken daily for good health corresponds to 100 salvestrol points. Today we take in an average of 2 mg (17 points) through our diet.
Salvestrol® Professional 2000 is standardised to 2000 Salvestrol points.

Ingredients

Salvestrol® fruit complex (citrus bioflavonoid extract, kabocha pumpkin (Curcubita maxima) extract, grape (Vitis vinifera) extract), hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (capsule shell), rice flour (bulking agent).

Recommended dosage

2 x 1 capsule daily with a glass of water with a meal. If you are unable to swallow capsules: Open the capsule and stir the contents into fat-containing yoghurt.

Storage instructions

Store in a cool, dry place away from light (not in the refrigerator).
