Vitamin A is one of the fat-soluble vitamins and is vital for the human organism. Vitamin A is only found in animal foods. Its precursors, including the important provitamin A (β-carotene), are found in plant foods. It can then be converted into vitamin A in the body.

Strictly speaking, the term "vitamin A" covers several chemically related compounds, including retinal, retinol, retinoic acid (vitamin A acid; tretinoin) and retinyl palmitate. All of these compounds are converted into each other in the body with the help of enzymes as required.

Retinol is very effective, but very unstable when exposed to light or oxygen. For this reason, the more stable retinyl palmitate is often used, which is composed of retinol and a fatty acid (palmitic acid). We use the more stable retinyl palmitate for Echt Vital Vitamin A and offer you our vitamin A in the form of drops.

Vitamin A in the form of retinol should not be overdosed, so always follow the instructions of your therapist. Especially pregnant women or women who want to become pregnant should consult their doctor, as very large amounts of vitamin A can damage the fruit. However, you should also avoid offal, especially liver, for the same reason. Liver from factory farming contains enough vitamin A to damage the embryo with a single meal!
Vitamin A can also be formed from carotene, which is also safe for pregnant women, as the body only converts as much as it really needs. However, there are also studies that show that the effect of pure vitamin A on the skin, for example, is more effective than taking beta-carotene for this purpose!
