Vitamin D3, also known as cholecalciferol, is the form of vitamin D that our skin synthesises with the help of cholesterol and sunlight. After absorption from food or synthesis in the skin, vitamin D3 is converted into a storage form in the liver and can be converted into its active form in the kidneys if required.

Highly bioavailable vitamin D yeast is suitable for histamine intolerance because it does not contain any active yeast components. In this vitamin D yeast, the vitamin D is absorbed by a nutritional yeast and incorporated into the cells. The nutritional yeast therefore has a high concentration of organic vitamin D compounds, just as they occur in nature. Organic compounds can be better absorbed by the body than inorganic ones.

Current information

The reference values for adults for vitamin D have recently been significantly increased by the DGE, from 5mcg to 20mcg!
This means that a daily portion contains 100% of the daily requirement according to the DGE, which is scientifically correct. However, as the scientifically outdated nutritional labelling regulations still apply to online shops, we have to state 400% in our nutritional table!

It is well known that you should not consume unlimited amounts of the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K, as they are toxic in very high doses.
But for this reason, customers need not fear that they are taking in too much vitamin D with this product!
This is also confirmed by current recommendations from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), according to which this product is absolutely safe.
