Why vitamin K2 and D3 in one capsule?

Normal bone health requires far more than just the conventional recommendation of calcium. Calcium is important for our bones, as the skeleton of an adult contains between 1 and 1.5 kg of calcium. Calcium is the substance that ensures high bone density and hard, resilient bones. However, many people do not realise this:
Calcium intake from milk, green vegetables or food supplements alone is not enough. Three other substances are needed to make calcium available in the body. Two of these substances are vitamin D3 and vitamin K2, the third is magnesium.

• Vitamin D3 transfers absorbed calcium from the intestine into the bloodstream. If there is a lack of vitamin D3, a large proportion of the calcium is excreted unutilised.
• Vitamin K2 transports the calcium from the blood into the bones and teeth. If there is a lack of vitamin K2, the calcium can be deposited in the bloodstream.

Vitamin D3:

Vitamin D3 supports normal bone and muscle function as well as the normal function of the immune system. Among other things, vitamin D3 ensures that calcium, which enters our body through food, is transferred from the intestine into the blood. It is therefore a partner of vitamin K2 in calcium absorption, which is also responsible for transporting calcium from the blood into the bones.
Vitamin D3 is often referred to as the sun vitamin, as our body covers the majority (approx. 70 - 90 %) of our vitamin D3 requirement itself by converting sunlight. The UVB rays from sunlight must hit our naked skin vertically with sufficient intensity for the body's own synthesis, which is crucial in this respect. Only then can the cholesterol deeper in the skin be reached, which ultimately synthesises vitamin D3, which is then converted into its active form, the hormone calcitriol, in the liver, kidneys and bone marrow. In our Central European latitudes, UVB rays only reach us under the conditions described between May and September when the sun is shining.

Vitamin K2:

Vitamin K2 promotes normal blood clotting and normal bones. Vitamin K2 is valuable for human bone structure, as it transports the calcium in the blood into the bones.
Vitamin K2 is therefore a central component of the calcium-health triangle. Firstly, calcium enters the body via food or food supplements. Vitamin D3 then enables absorption into the blood via the intestinal wall. In the final step, vitamin K2 ensures the incorporation of calcium into bones and teeth by activating the osteocalcin protein responsible for this.

Our vitamin D3 is obtained from wool wax (lanolin). This is a secretion produced in the sebaceous glands of sheep, which is obtained from shorn wool. Our lanolin comes from free-range German wool sheep. Lanolin as an animal product has the advantage that it can be utilised very well by the body.
Our vitamin K2 is premium vitamin K2 (MK-7 menaquinone) and consists of 99.5 % active all-trans isomers, which contribute to high bioavailability. Our high-quality vitamin K2 is obtained from an organic synthesis.
The capsules are highly dosed and contain the respective weekly requirement of the vitamin supply per capsule.
