The topic of packaging waste and especially plastic waste is very important to us.
I'm under no illusions: we won't save the world with our small possibilities! But we can at least tell our grandchildren that we weren't part of this madness and that's f’ r already worth a lot to us.
Some time ago we put this topic on our agenda and managed to get by with 0 g of self-bought plastic in our packaging! So no more styrofoam flips, no bubble bags, no plastic tape and anything else nothing that can't be recycled on the compost or recycling plant. Of course, bubble wrap is the lightest and safest way to ship bottles or anything made of glass, unfortunately. Our current cardboard cushioning materials have significantly more volume and weight, resulting in larger packages. But I think as far as the ecological balance is concerned, plastic and styrofoam would be worse than the minimum additional fuel consumption at DHL if our package weighs e.g. 550 g instead of 500 g.
However, many of our suppliers still use plastic, in the form of bubble wrap. Disposing of this with us and replacing it with cardboard padding so that it looks "ko" would be nothing more than greenwashing, because the film was produced and is in the world and our eco packaging costs in production also saves energy and resources. Of course, there is no such thing as "environmentally friendly" packaging, cars, heaters, etc., there are only "less harmful" ones! So don't be surprised if a bottle does once packed with bubble wrap. We only continue to use materials that have been sent to us with orders, regardless of whether this is with goods deliveries or with normal office supplies. And because we only use material that was "involuntarily" sent to us with orders and that is now better kept for further use than in the garbage, and only very little of it, in our opinion it also bites not with the reference to plastic-free shipping.
Therefore, please do not be surprised if you receive a package from us with a big &szz; our label for plastic-free stands, but it was supposedly sealed with plastic tape. It's not plastic.
Admittedly, not all manufacturers find this useful. We have many contacts in the online shop scene and some smile at that. But we stand by it, even if it means more work and money for us.
