Drinking water analysis for infants and babies - MAXI

Comprehensive analyses for heavy metals, pollutants and germs

The water analysis includes the analysis of the heavy and light metals lead, copper and the anions sodium, nitrite, nitrate and sulphate including the analysis of 4 germs (Escherichia coli, coliform germs and total bacterial count at 22°C and 36°) in accordance with the Drinking Water Ordinance.

The Drinking Water Ordinance (TrinkwV) and the Mineral and Table Water Ordinance (Min/TafelWV) set maximum limits for substances that are hazardous to health and thus set clear quality standards, according to which tap water is also suitable for preparing food for babies and for their hygiene. However, contamination of the water often only occurs after it has passed through the house connection because, depending on the material of the pipe, this can lead to chemical reactions with the release of metal ions into the drinking water. Pipes in older buildings may contain copper or even lead. Chrome and nickel can be released into the water by the fittings.

Drinking water from well systems can contain various metals and compounds such as sulphate, nitrite, nitrate or phosphate (phosphorus) and harbour health risks. Growing urbanisation, industrialisation and agriculture as well as private and industrial wastewater (e.g. sewage sludge) are other significant sources of pollution. Natural geological processes can also pollute groundwater.

In particular, the immature immune system and the growing organism of infants and babies can even suffer long-term damage in the worst case.

State-of-the-art laboratory analyses provide certainty in the quickest possible way as to whether the water is contaminated with heavy or light metals that indicate a potential health risk. The detailed findings show a detailed list of the individual test parameters and their risks. Any possible exceedance of the limit values is clearly labelled graphically.

The test set includes

  • 1 set of instructions for taking samples
  • 1 set of instructions for requesting results
  • 1 sample receipt
  • 1 guarantee certificate
  • 2 sample tubes
  • 1 envelope

How does the ordering process work?

After your order, we will send you the desired test pack with detailed instructions. You put the water sample in a tube, send it in a prepared envelope to Medivere's partner laboratory GANZIMMUN Diagnostics GmbH and receive the test result after approx. 14 working days.

Please note that this drinking water analysis is only suitable for one tap. The samples cannot be taken from several taps!

Legal notice: All samples are taken by the client. This drinking water analysis is an orientating analysis which is not carried out on the basis of the current Drinking Water Ordinance. An official or judicial recognition of the test results is excluded.

Please note:

Unfortunately, it is not possible to carry out analyses on contaminated water that is cloudy or discoloured or contains undissolved particles (well or pond water).

In order to be able to provide you with accurate and reliable results, water samples are required in a condition that meets the requirements for drinking water (tap water). Should you nevertheless send us contaminated water, Medivere reserves the right not to carry out the analysis and we will unfortunately not be able to refund the costs, as the test kit will then be used up.

Only for Germany and Austria

We would like to point out that these tests and the shipping procedures are optimised and pre-paid for Germany and Austria. Orders from further afield are problematic because the perishable biological samples may only be in transit for a limited time (maximum 4 days). Customers from Switzerland or other EU countries can of course try it at their own risk, but if the test fails, we decline any responsibility or reimbursement. You can find more information on this from the manufacturer!

Only for Germany and Austria

  • We would like to point out that these tests and the shipping processes are optimized for Germany and Austria and are prepaid.
  • Samples must be delivered to the German laboratory within 4 days. This cannot be guaranteed for samples shipped from other countries!
  • Orders from countries other than Germany and Austria are therefore at your own risk. In this case, we only accept the payment method "Prepayment (directly to us)", as customers cannot then cancel the purchase, e.g., because the sample arrived at the laboratory unusable through their own fault. Purchases made with any other payment methods that customers could unlawfully reverse will be immediately canceled and refunded.
