WOSCHA Enzyme Complex for good digestion - for enzyme deficiency
Enzymes play a similar role in our metabolism as lubricating oil in engines, as they activate and accelerate chemical reactions. They ensure that our bodily functions run smoothly and are essential for our survival. Digestive enzymes are particularly important. They are produced in the pancreas and support the breakdown of carbohydrates, fats and proteins in the small intestine. They also promote the activity of metabolic enzymes if they are not used for digestion.
With increasing age, environmental toxins, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, a fatty or sugary diet, diets and illnesses, the body's own enzyme production can decrease or the need for enzymes can increase. To compensate for this lack of enzymes, it may be advisable to use some external support.
WOSCHA enzyme combination
- promotes the breakdown of food components
- reduces intolerances (for people who have difficulty digesting lactose, lactase helps to process it)
- promotes various metabolic processes
The WOSCHA Enzyme Complex offers a comprehensive spectrum of highly bioavailable enzymes
The enzyme complex from WOSCHA contains the high-quality DigeZyme®. This multi-enzyme complex is made up of various digestive enzymes (such as alpha-amylase, lactase, lipase, cellulase and acid and neutral proteases), which have been combined in a special mixing ratio.
Naturally obtained plant enzymes such as bromelain from pineapple and papain from papaya optimally complete the broad enzyme spectrum.
Hydrochloric acid in the stomach destroys enzymes. This is why we use enteric-coated capsules (EMBO® AP). They prevent the enzymes from decomposing so that they reach the small intestine undamaged.
The WOSCHA Enzyme Complex is free from lactose and other additives and can also be tolerated well over longer periods of time. It is suitable for vegans as all enzymes are obtained from plants and fungi.
Function and effect of enzymes
Metabolic enzymes act in the body and control physiological processes both inside and outside the cells. They take care of energy supply, waste disposal, support the formation of proteins, messenger substances, hormones and cells, are involved in the transmission of stimuli in the nerves and muscle contraction and much more.
The pancreas produces digestive enzymes that act in the small intestine. They break down the carbohydrates, fats and proteins contained in our food so that our organism can utilise and absorb their energy. They also promote a normal intestinal environment (which prevents flatulence, for example) and contribute to our general well-being.
Significant: If the amount of digestive enzymes is greater than required, the excess is immediately channelled into the tissues via the blood to support the metabolic enzymes. For example, for cell renewal, blood clotting, oxygen utilisation or the development of the immune system.
What is the function of the enzymes in the WOSCHA enzyme complex?
Enzymes only work within a narrow pH range that is characteristic of them. Amylase shows its maximum activity level at a pH value of 6 (in a slightly acidic environment). Its activity decreases as soon as the pH value changes.
Therefore, a preparation with a greater variety of enzymes can better support our body. As the following list shows, our enzyme complex is particularly comprehensive:
- Alpha-amylase supports the breakdown of carbohydrates. It breaks down polysaccharides into monosaccharides.
- Lactase has the task of breaking down the milk sugar lactose into glucose and galactose. Lactase improves the digestion of lactose in people who have difficulty digesting it.
- Lipase breaks down various types of fats into glycerol and simple fatty acids that the body can easily utilise.
- Cellulase breaks down cellulose into beta-glucose.
- Neutral and acidic proteases break down proteins into their components, the amino acids.
- Bromelain and papain, two plant enzymes, are active at almost all pH values.
The WOSCHA Enzyme Complex is characterised by a very extensive spectrum of enzymes that can effectively compensate for an enzyme deficiency.

High-quality formulations from the Netherlands
podo medi's products are significantly influenced by the naturopathic experience of its co-founder Wolfgang P. Schallmey. As a naturopath and expert in orthemolecular therapy, he created his own brand WOSCHA nutritional supplements, which are based on years of experience and a holistic philosophy. In addition to high quality, effectiveness and good tolerability, WOSCHA products are characterised by a lack of additives, which are added in other preparations for cheaper production. WOSCHA products are made from fresh and genetically unmodified raw materials and are available in their purest form. In addition, podo medi pays attention to sustainable packaging and shipping. For example, the product cans are made of harmless PET and recyclable material. Woscha and natura felix are brands of Podomedi.
