Natural polyphenols and ellagic acid protect cells and promote men's well-being

Longlife Granatum is an antioxidant food supplement containing pomegranate extract, microencapsulated vitamin K2 and green tea polyphenols. It has been specially developed for men aged 50 and over to support their wellbeing. Each capsule provides 253 mg of potent plant polyphenols.
Pomegranate is rich in phytochemicals such as flavonoids, tannins and ellagic acid. These are known to protect cells from damage caused by oxidation.

Studies on pomegranate in men

A clinical study (Pantuck et al., 2006) was published on PubMed, which investigated the effect of pomegranate juice on men.

A study from the University of Wisconsin also found impressive results, see Malik, A., Afaq, F., Sarfaraz, S., Adhami, V. M., Syed, D. N., & Mukhtar, H. (2005).

Research from the Hollings Institute (MUSC - South Carolina) investigated ellagic acid, a substance found in pomegranates. Dr Daniel Nixon and his colleagues came to exciting results (Narayanan BA, Geoffroy O, Willingham MC, Re GG, Nixon DW. 1999).

Green tea extract: effective catechins and their co-operation with pomegranate

Green tea is rich in catechins such as EGCG, ECG and EGC, which are being intensively studied for their antioxidant effects.
The only place in Europe where green tea is grown is in Switzerland, close to the EnergyBalance® headquarters. Green tea together with pomegranate is a very powerful defence against harmful substances in the body.

The vitamin K2 in this product is known as MK-7 and is specially coated so that it is not destroyed in the stomach. It arrives undamaged in the intestine and can be easily absorbed by the body. K2 is important for normal blood clotting and for healthy bones.

Cell protection through vitamins?

Vitamin K is actually of relatively little importance for the actual purpose of this product, namely taking it for cell protection (but it doesn't do any harm either).
In another context, however, it can make a lot of sense. There is very strong evidence that vitamin D is very important for cell protection.
In addition, vitamin D also contributes to the maintenance of normal bones by enabling calcium to be incorporated into the bones.
On the other hand, a high calcium intake is a problem for the arteries (although it is also needed in the blood in principle). Too much calcium in the blood can promote arteriosclerosis, i.e. calcium deposits.
There is evidence that this undesirable effect can be avoided by taking vitamin D and vitamin K at the same time. This is also the reason why there are so many vitamin D & K combination preparations available today.

It is therefore advisable to take vitamin D in addition to Longlife Granatum + K2. This provides optimum support for the cells, blood vessels and bones at the same time.

Ingredients

Certified organic pomegranate juice (Punica granatum), pomegranate extract (Punica granatum) whole fruit, green tea extract, cellullose, vitamin K2 microencapsulated with 100% biologically active MK-7 all-trans-isomers; cellulose (VegeCaps).

Recommended dosage

2 capsules, 4 capsules if required, on an empty stomach before a meal or at bedtime.

Caution

Patients taking anticoagulants should consult their doctor before taking vitamin K supplements.

Storage instructions

Store in a cool, dry place away from light (not in the refrigerator).
