Natural polyphenols and ellagic acid protect cells and promote well-being in men

Longlife Granatum is an antioxidant food supplement containing granataple extract, microencapsulated vitamin K2 and green tea polyphenols. It has been specially developed for men aged 50 and over to support their wellbeing. Each capsule provides 253 mg of active plant polyphenols.
Granatapfel is rich in phytonutrients such as flavonoids, tannins and ellagic acid. These are known to protect cells from damage caused by oxidation.

Studies on men about granatapfel

On PubMed a clinical study (Pantuck et al., 2006) was published that examined the effect of granatapfel juice on men.

A study from the University of Wisconsin also found impressive results, see Malik, A., Afaq, F., Sarfaraz, S., Adhami, V. M., Syed, D. N., & Mukhtar, H. (2005).

Research at the Hollings Institute (MUSC - South Carolina) investigated ellagic acid, a substance found in the granatapfel. Dr Daniel Nixon and his colleagues came up with some interesting results (Narayanan BA, Geoffroy O, Willingham MC, Re GG, Nixon DW. 1999).

Green tea extract: powerful catechins and their cooperation with the granatapfel

Green tea is rich in catechins such as EGCG, ECG and EGC, which are intensively studied for their antioxidant effects.
The only European location where green tea is cultivated is in Switzerland, close to the headquarters of EnergyBalance®. Green tea together with granatapfel is a very strong protection against harmful substances in the body.

The vitamin K2 in this product is known as MK-7 and is specially encased so that it is not destroyed in the stomach. It arrives intact in the intestine and can be well absorbed by the body there. K2 is important for normal blood clotting and for healthy bones.

Cell protection through vitamins?

Vitamin K is relatively unimportant (but not harmful) when it comes to the actual purpose of the product, which is to protect the cells.

But in another context, it can make a lot of sense. There are strong indications that vitamin D is very important for cell protection.

Vitamin D also helps to maintain normal bones by enabling calcium to build up in the bones.

On the other hand, too much calcium is a problem for the arteries (although it is needed in the blood). Too much calcium in the blood can promote arteriosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries.
There is evidence that this undesirable effect can be avoided by taking vitamin D and vitamin K at the same time. This is also the reason why there are so many vitamin D & K combination products on the market today.

It is also recommended to take vitamin D with Longlife Granatum + K2. It helps cells, blood vessels and bones at the same time.

Suggested Use

2 capsules, 4 capsules if needed, on an empty stomach before a meal or before going to bed.

Caution

Patients taking anticoagulants should consult their doctor before taking vitamin K supplements.
