Laboratory chemical analysis to determine vitamin D status
Vitamin D is important for bones, muscles and the immune system. The vitamin, which dissolves in fat, plays a role in numerous metabolic processes, such as the regulation of calcium levels and the mineralisation of teeth and bones. It also contributes to the transmission of stimuli in the nervous system and supports the muscles and the immune system.
The body can only produce sufficient vitamin D through photochemical synthesis if it is sufficiently exposed to sunlight. Depending on the time of year and time of day, 5 to 25 minutes of sunlight a day are necessary to achieve this. In autumn and winter, the duration and intensity of sunlight exposure decreases. Almost 60 per cent of the population in Germany do not reach the desired vitamin D concentration to benefit from its protective effect.
The EsKiMo study conducted by the Robert Koch Institute and the University of Paderborn analysed the nutrient intake of children. In the group of 6-11 year olds, 100% of the test subjects were below the daily nutrient intake recommended by the German Nutrition Society. Studies on adults also show an undersupply of vitamin D - particularly in the winter months.

A test can give you certainty as to whether you are sufficiently supplied with vitamin D. The results form the basis for customised advice from your nutritionist, doctor or alternative practitioner. Self-treatment by taking vitamin D on your own responsibility should only be undertaken if your own medical or naturopathic knowledge is very good and there are no other aggravating illnesses or laboratory results.
The test kit includes
- 1 instruction for sample collection
- 2 lancets
- 1 sample tube
- 2 alcohol swabs
- 1 fingertip plaster
- 1 sample label
- 1 envelope
How does the ordering process work?
Once you have placed your order, the desired test pack will be sent to you with detailed instructions. You place your sample in a sample container, send it in a prepared envelope to Medivere's partner laboratory GANZIMMUN Diagnostics GmbH and receive a report with the evaluation of your profile after 5-7 days.
Only for Germany and Austria
We would like to point out that these tests and the shipping processes are optimised for Germany and Austria. Orders from further afield are problematic because the perishable biological samples may only be in transit for a limited time (maximum 4 days). Customers from Switzerland or other EU countries can of course try it at their own risk, but if the test fails, we decline any responsibility or reimbursement. You can find more information on this from the manufacturer!

High-quality formulations from the Netherlands
podo medi's products are significantly influenced by the naturopathic experience of its co-founder Wolfgang P. Schallmey. As a naturopath and expert in orthemolecular therapy, he created his own brand WOSCHA nutritional supplements, which are based on years of experience and a holistic philosophy. In addition to high quality, effectiveness and good tolerability, WOSCHA products are characterised by a lack of additives, which are added in other preparations for cheaper production. WOSCHA products are made from fresh and genetically unmodified raw materials and are available in their purest form. In addition, podo medi pays attention to sustainable packaging and shipping. For example, the product cans are made of harmless PET and recyclable material. Woscha and natura felix are brands of Podomedi.
