Medicinal plants during pregnancy
Medicinal plants can improve your well-being during pregnancy, but you should choose them carefully. Gentle teas such as camomile, lemon balm, lavender and rooibos are considered safe and soothing. Small amounts of ginger can help with frequent complaints in the first trimester. From the second trimester onwards, nettle or dandelion are good for kidney function, while teas made from raspberry leaves are often only used towards the end of pregnancy (from around the 36th week).
