Vitamins
Vitamins should not be missing from a balanced diet - but why not? Vitamins are micronutrients that are involved in many vital processes in the body. Some vitamins cannot be produced by the body itself, or only to a small extent. These essential vitamins must therefore be supplied through a healthy diet. A distinction is made between fat-soluble vitamins, which can be stored in fatty tissue, and water-soluble vitamins, which are excreted via the kidneys if they are too high. As these vitamins are not stored, regular intake is particularly important.
The supply of vitamins should be considered and sensible, because in addition to a vitamin deficiency, an overdose can also occur, especially with fat-soluble vitamins.
