OPC from the branded raw material Oligopin™ with 90% active ingredient
Oligomeric proanthocyanidins, also called oligomeric procyanidins and abbreviated as OPC (for oligomer pro cyanidins) or PCO (English: oligomeric proanthocyanidins), are well known in connection with grape seeds and grape skins, but the extract from pine bark also contains a high proportion of these interesting phytochemicals. OPCs are naturally occurring plant compounds that belong to the flavonoid group and are classified among the broader polyphenols. They are a colourless bitter compound, which is also marketed as Oligopin™. This means that Oligopin™ is produced from the same raw material but promoted under the registered brand name. Our food supplement with pine bark extract contains 90% OPC. OPCs are mostly dimers or trimers of oligomeric catechins and provide antioxidant protection against the effects of free radicals.
