Osteoporosis Test

Only for Germany and Austria

  • We would like to point out that these tests and the shipping processes are optimized for Germany and Austria and are prepaid.
  • Samples must be delivered to the German laboratory within 4 days. This cannot be guaranteed for samples shipped from other countries!
  • Orders from countries other than Germany and Austria are therefore at your own risk. In this case, we only accept the payment method "Prepayment (directly to us)", as customers cannot then cancel the purchase, e.g., because the sample arrived at the laboratory unusable through their own fault. Purchases made with any other payment methods that customers could unlawfully reverse will be immediately canceled and refunded.
  • You can find more information about this from the manufacturer!

Test for the early detection of signs of osteoporosis

In cooperation with the laboratory osteolabs GmbH in Kiel we offer you a test for the early detection of osteoporosis. The osteoporosis test from osteolabs is uncomplicated and quick, as it does without X-rays and determines the calcium balance in the bones from a single urine sample. This allows you to check your osteoporosis status conveniently and without radiation exposure from home.

In addition to the hormonal changes in the menopause and to diseases, there are many other factors that can increase the risk of developing osteoporosis. In around 70 percent of cases, hormones are responsible for fragile bones. When oestrogen production declines in women during the menopause, this has a negative effect on bone metabolism, as oestrogens slow down the activity of bone-resorbing cells. Women who had a late first menstruation as teenagers or who entered the menopause early are particularly susceptible to osteoporosis. Women who have not given birth or who have had their ovaries removed also have an increased risk of osteoporosis. Unfortunately, osteoporosis only becomes apparent once it has already caused noticeable damage to the skeleton: this can lead to a hunched back such as a dowager's hump or to painful bone fractures. Men also develop osteoporosis, but this usually occurs at a later age, often around 70 years.

Don’t wait for warning signs! Have an osteoporosis risk assessment carried out as soon as the menopause begins. The earlier a dangerous decline in bone density can be diagnosed, the greater the chances of reducing the risk of disease through therapy and preventive measures. The osteoporosis test from osteolabs is a highly precise, radiation-free and reliable early warning system for your bone health. According to studies by Clinical Research Center Kiel GmbH, the osteoporosis test from osteolabs can identify osteoporosis more reliably than the DXA X-ray procedure. *

Your test result will be provided to you, alongside a detailed explanation, further measurements and recommended actions, also in a colour-coded presentation as shown in the sample report. At a glance it shows you whether and to what extent a developing osteoporosis could be detected in you. To determine your osteoporosis risk you can also use the Osteoporosis Risk Questionnaire from our download area.

Making the diagnosis

The results form the basis for a tailored therapy, which should only be carried out after consultation with a doctor or therapist.

The test set includes:
  • 1 self-report form, 1 urine cup
  • 1 protective vessel with yellow cap
  • 1 green urine monovette with yellow tip (Note: The urine monovette is located in the yellow protective vessel)
  • 1 shipping envelope

How does the ordering process work?

After your order we will send you the requested test kit together with detailed instructions. You place your sample into a tube and send it in an envelope prepared for Germany to our partner laboratory, osteolabs GmbH. A morning urine sample is sufficient for the test. Please note that returns from abroad are not postage-free. See the notice at https://osteolabs.de/de/adr.html

Your urine sample will be thoroughly analysed and tested in the medical laboratory of osteolabs. High-precision mass spectrometers are used to carry out the test. Your test results will be discreetly sent to your address after 10 working days. Alternatively, you can also access your report online via the osteolabs site. Attention! The report can currently only be downloaded from the osteolabs GmbH website at https://shop.osteolabs.de/befund.html.
Please note that reimbursement by private health insurance for this test is not always guaranteed. Please therefore clarify with your health insurer whether reimbursement will be provided.

Achieve better results with sensible diagnostics!

Around 50% of our customers are referred to us by their therapist and know exactly what they need. Many more have extensive therapeutic knowledge, but many also buy on a hunch ("just in case") without really knowing the details. For these customers it would make a lot of sense to first determine their exact needs or any deficiencies. Customers who buy a test from us are offered a short health consultation with a nutritionist, during which it is clarified which product would be best for them.
In addition, they receive a 10% voucher for their first purchase after they have received their test result. We are also happy to put them in touch with suitably qualified therapists with whom we are in contact. As a retailer we are only allowed to provide limited advice, even though we would be qualified to do so. This is regulated by law because of the conflict of interest between sales and therapy; for example, doctors are not allowed to sell medicines or vitamins.
