Pure D-mannose for a healthy autumn
D-mannose occurs in fruits and certain plants. The natural simple sugar is absorbed in the intestine and reaches the bloodstream from there. In contrast to disaccharides or polysaccharides, however, it does not affect blood sugar levels.
Excretion via the kidneys and bladder
The sugar is scarcely metabolised by the liver and is excreted relatively quickly unchanged in the urine. Bacteria tend to adhere to mannose; in that case they are excreted with it.
