What are Resveratrol, liposomal NADH and L‑ergothioneine?

Resveratrol, L‑ergothioneine and NADH belong to different classes of substances – and that is exactly what makes their combination special.

Resveratrol is a plant polyphenol produced by plants as a protective compound. It is known, among other sources, from Japanese knotweed and grape skins. As a member of the stilbenes, resveratrol has been the subject of scientific research in the field of plant constituents for many years.

L‑ergothioneine is a sulphur-containing amino acid compound that the body cannot synthesise itself. It is taken up via the diet and is selectively concentrated in certain tissues via a specialised transport mechanism. This active uptake distinguishes L‑ergothioneine from many other dietary components.

NADH is the reduced form of an endogenous coenzyme involved in numerous biochemical processes. It is formed in metabolism from NAD and plays a role in cellular redox reactions. At the same time, NADH is considered a sensitive compound that can be affected by external influences such as light, oxygen or stomach acid.

The liposomal form describes the embedding of the substance in phospholipids. In this form, NADH is surrounded by a fat‑like shell that structurally resembles biological membranes. This form is used to physically protect sensitive compounds.

In scientific classification, these three substances represent different areas: resveratrol as a plant polyphenol, L‑ergothioneine as a specialised amino acid compound and NADH as an endogenous coenzyme.
