The Sango coral, from the genus of stony corals, originates in Japan on Okinawa. This is a Japanese prefecture made up of over 150 islands in the East China Sea. The eponymous island is the largest of the group and consists of wide beaches and coral reefs. Around the island there are whole sandbanks of eroded Sango coral on the sea bed.

Magnesium from Sango coral

The Sango coral contains organic calcium and magnesium in a 2:1 ratio. This ensures optimal absorption in the body. Due to this special composition, Sango coral is very effective in the remineralisation of bones, teeth, hair and fingernails.
In addition to magnesium, the coral contains over 70 other minerals and trace elements, such as magnesium, copper, silicon, boron, germanium and iron.

The 30-metre water depth extends over an approximately 500-metre-wide belt around the island; then the seabed drops steeply and it is only here that the government permits the collection of the fossil coral.
The powder for our Sango coral is collected at depths of more than 60 metres and at distances of more than 1,000 metres from the shore; at these depths there are no living corals, only fossil corals. The Sango coral powder is carefully tested and analysed so that we can guarantee consistent quality at all times.
