EnergyBalance Zinc has a high zinc content, is easily soluble in water and, as a citrate, is better absorbed by the body.
This new product from EnergyBalance contains just 5 mg of zinc per capsule, making it much easier to dose than the classic EnergyBalance Zinc 25 mg. Many people also take other dietary supplements, such as multivitamin capsules. As these often contain zinc as well, it is otherwise easy to end up with an overdose.
Zinc is not as ‘harmless’ a micronutrient as, for example, calcium, of which one can safely consume a little more. Although zinc is highly effective and absolutely essential for life, one can reach the maximum dose – above which harmful effects may occur – relatively quickly.
Zinc should therefore only be taken after careful consideration and, ideally, in consultation with a naturopath, nutritionist or doctor.
