Cholesterol Complex is a selected blend of mushrooms of exotic origin and red yeast rice. The mushrooms included — shiitake, Jew's ear and maitake — are helpful supporters for those who are particularly mindful of their fat intake. They contain valuable beta-glucan and monacolin.
Monaklin is a component of red rice and is obtained through fermentation processes with a mould. It is used in medicinal products to lower cholesterol levels. As a product with a daily intake of 5 mg or more requires authorisation as a medicinal product, we expressly recommend taking only one capsule daily, as this is a food supplement. After all, various mushrooms also contain this substance in small amounts. According to literature sources, small amounts of monacolin K are also present in Jew's ear, maitake and shiitake.
