For the detection and assessment of the entire gut microbiome

The intestinal microbiome refers to the totality of microorganisms present in the gut. It has a decisive impact on human well-being and health. If the gut microbiome becomes imbalanced, this — as numerous studies show — can be associated with various diseases. These include, for example, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, bowel cancer, calcium oxalate kidney stones, cardiovascular diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, as well as neurological disorders.

The analysis of the gut microbiome is carried out using DNA sequencing (Next-Generation Sequencing). This enables the detection of almost all known bacteria to date. DNA sequencing allows the effects of the individual’s highly complex microbiota on colonisation resistance, digestive processes, absorption of nutrients and vitamins, as well as on immunity to be assessed more precisely. This testing procedure is performed using molecular biological methods, which also detect anaerobic bacteria at the highest technical standard that cannot be cultured.

This test additionally includes the parameters of the Gut Health Check, including zonulin in stool. The Gut Health Check comprises examination of the flora status, assessment of digestive performance and capacity, and evaluation of the condition and function of the intestinal mucosa and the gut-associated immune system.

After placing your order, the requested test kit will be sent to you with detailed instructions. You put your sample into a specimen container, send it in a prepared envelope to Medivere’s partner laboratory GANZIMMUN Diagnostics GmbH and will receive a report assessing your profile within 5–7 days.
