Only for Germany and Austria
- We would like to point out that these tests and the shipping processes are optimized for Germany and Austria and are prepaid.
- Samples must be delivered to the German laboratory within 4 days. This cannot be guaranteed for samples shipped from other countries!
- Orders from countries other than Germany and Austria are therefore at your own risk. In this case, we only accept the payment method "Prepayment (directly to us)", as customers cannot then cancel the purchase, e.g., because the sample arrived at the laboratory unusable through their own fault. Purchases made with any other payment methods that customers could unlawfully reverse will be immediately canceled and refunded.

In cases of suboptimal histamine breakdown, particularly where large amounts of histamine accumulate and there is insufficient activity of histamine-degrading enzymes such as diamine oxidase (DAO) and histamine N-methyltransferase (HNMT) in the liver, excessive amounts of histamine can build up in the body. Histamine intolerance (HIT) is therefore a sign of an imbalance between the production of histamine and its breakdown. It is not only foods with a high histamine content that influence the amount of histamine in the body: an excessive number of histamine-producing bacteria in the gut, allergies or medicines that inhibit histamine breakdown can also have an impact.
The symptoms typically associated with histaminosis can be varied. Excessive histamine levels can lead to circulatory problems, headaches, shortness of breath, allergy-like symptoms and skin rashes. However, gastrointestinal symptoms such as stomach pain, heartburn, cramps, bloating and diarrhoea are also possible. This urine test is used to measure histamine and its metabolites in the urine.
In the gut, histamine is primarily broken down by the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO), producing imidazoleacetaldehyde and imidazoleacetic acid. As a second intracellular degradation pathway, histamine is converted by N-methyltransferase into the products N-methylhistamine, N-methylimidazoleacetaldehyde and N-methylimidazoleacetic acid. The relationships between N-methylhistamine and histamine, as well as between imidazoleacetic acid and histamine, provide insights into the function of DAO and the activity of HNMT.
The following parameters are investigated:
- Histamine
- Imidazoleacetic acid
- Imidazoleacetic acid/histamine ratio
- N-methylhistamine
- N-methylimidazoleacetic acid
- N-methylhistamine to histamine ratio Diagnosis
The results form the basis for a personalised treatment plan, which should only be undertaken after consultation with a doctor or therapist.
The test kit contains:
- 1 set of sample collection instructions
- 1 urine collection cup
- 1 yellow urine tube (Urine Monovette)
- 1 yellow tip
- 1 dispatch container for the Urine Monovette
- 1 dispatch envelope
How does the ordering process work?
Once you have placed your order, the test kit you have chosen will be sent to you along with detailed instructions. You place your sample in a sample tube, send it in the provided envelope to Mediveres’ partner laboratory, GANZIMMUN Diagnostics GmbH, and will receive your results, including an assessment of your profile, within 5–7 days.

Reaching your goal better with sensible diagnostics!
Around 50 % of our customers are sent to us by their therapist and know exactly what they need. Many others have extensive medical knowledge, but many also buy "on suspicion" without really knowing exactly what they need. For these customers, it would make a lot of sense to first determine their exact needs and possible deficiencies. Customers who buy a test from us are offered a short health consultation with a nutritionist to clarify what would be the best product for them.
In addition, they receive a 10% voucher for their first purchase after receiving their test result. And we are happy to put them in touch with the expert therapists with whom we are in contact. As a retailer, we are only allowed to provide limited information, even though we are qualified to do so. This is regulated by law because of the conflict of interest between sales and therapy, which is why doctors, for example, are not allowed to sell medicines or vitamins.
