The Melatonin Plus Profile enables a more detailed insight into nocturnal melatonin metabolism through simple sample collection, which is carried out at 8 pm, midnight and 2 am.
General:
Sleep and wake times in humans are primarily determined by the brain. However, the body also plays an essential role in sleep: melatonin regulates the body's day-night rhythm. Melatonin secretion begins in the evening and reaches its peak between two and three o'clock in the morning. Disturbances in hormone production can lead to severe difficulties falling or staying asleep. The consequences are reduced performance and constant daytime tiredness, irritability, concentration difficulties up to depression and fear of the next night. Whether a disturbed hormonal balance is the cause of the sleep disturbances can be revealed by analysis of melatonin. The results serve as a basis for an individual therapy and should be discussed with a doctor or therapist.

How does the ordering process work?
After you place your order, the desired test package will be sent to you with detailed instructions. You place your sample in a sample container, send it in a prepared envelope to Medivere's partner laboratory GANZIMMUN Diagnostics GmbH and will receive a report with the evaluation of your profile within 5-7 days.

Around 50% of our customers are referred to us by their therapist and know exactly what they need. Many more have extensive therapeutic knowledge, but many also buy on a hunch ("just in case") without really knowing the details.
