Laboratory chemical analysis of the organic acids benzoic acid, hippuric acid, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, phenylacetic acid, p-hydroxyphenylacetic acid, indican, dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid, D-arabinitol, citramalic acid and tartaric acid

Digestive disorders resulting from a deficiency of enzymes, co-enzymes and micronutrients (particularly vitamins), as well as small bowel diseases and an unbalanced diet, usually lead to incomplete breakdown of carbohydrates and proteins in the gut. The resulting change in pH promotes the growth and spread of pathogenic microorganisms as far as the upper sections of the small intestine. These microorganisms, in turn, convert the excess metabolites into toxic breakdown products – organic acids – which are excreted via the kidneys.

Some of the metabolic by-products detected in the urine serve as markers for intestinal colonisation by a specific pathogenic micro-organism.

How does the ordering process work?

Once you have placed your order, the test pack you have chosen will be sent to you along with detailed instructions. You place your sample in a sample container, send it in the provided envelope to Mediveres’ partner laboratory, GANZIMMUN Diagnostics GmbH, and will receive your results, including an assessment of your profile, within 5–7 days.
