Test for the early detection of signs of osteoporosis
In collaboration with the osteolabs GmbH laboratory in Kiel, we offer a test for the early detection of osteoporosis. The osteolabs osteoporosis test is straightforward and quick, as it does not require X-rays and determines the calcium levels in the bones using a single urine sample. This allows you to check your osteoporosis status conveniently from home, without being exposed to radiation.
In addition to the hormonal changes during the menopause and certain medical conditions, there are numerous other factors that can increase the risk of developing osteoporosis. In around 70 per cent of cases, hormones are responsible for brittle bones. When oestrogen production declines in women going through the menopause, this has a negative impact on bone metabolism, as oestrogens slow down the activity of the cells that break down bone. Incidentally, women who had their first period late as teenagers or who entered the menopause early are particularly susceptible to osteoporosis. Women who have never given birth or who have had their ovaries removed also have an increased risk of osteoporosis. Unfortunately, osteoporosis only becomes apparent once it has already caused noticeable damage to the skeleton: this can lead to a hunched back, such as in the case of a ‘widow’s hump’, or to painful bone fractures. Men can also develop osteoporosis, although this usually only occurs later in life, often at the age of 70.
Don’t wait for warning signs! Have a risk assessment for osteoporosis carried out as soon as the menopause begins. The earlier a dangerous decline in bone density can be diagnosed, the greater the chances of reducing the risk of the condition through treatment and preventive measures. The osteolabs osteoporosis test is a highly accurate, radiation-free and reliable early-warning system for your bone health. According to research by Clinical Research Center Kiel GmbH, the osteolabs osteoporosis test can identify osteoporosis more reliably than the DXA X-ray procedure. *
The test result is provided to you alongside a detailed explanation, further measurements and recommendations for action, as well as in a colour-coded diagram, as shown in the sample report. At a glance, it shows you whether and to what extent a risk of osteoporosis has been identified in your case. To assess your risk of osteoporosis, you can also use the Osteoporosis Risk Questionnaire available in our downloads section.
Making a diagnosis
The results form the basis for a personalised treatment plan, which should only be carried out after consultation with a doctor or therapist.
The test kit contains:- 1 self-assessment questionnaire 1 urine collection cup
- 1 protective container with a yellow cap
- 1 green UrinMonovette with a yellow tip (Note: The UrinMonovette is contained within the yellow protective container)
- 1 postal envelope
How does the ordering process work?
Once you have placed your order, we will send you the test kit you have requested, together with detailed instructions. Place your sample in a tube and send it in an envelope prepared for Germany to our partner laboratory, osteolabs GmbH. A morning urine sample is sufficient for the test. Please note that returns from abroad are not postage-free. See the note at https://osteolabs.de/de/adr.html
Your urine sample will be thoroughly analysed and tested in the osteolabs medical laboratory. High-precision mass spectrometers are used to carry out the test. Your test results will be sent discreetly to your address after 10 working days. Alternatively, you can access your results online via the osteolabs website. Important! The results can currently only be downloaded from the osteolabs GmbH website at https://shop.osteolabs.de/befund.html.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that reimbursement by private health insurance is not always guaranteed for this test. Please therefore check with your health insurer to see whether the costs will be reimbursed.

Reaching your goal better with sensible diagnostics!
Around 50 % of our customers are sent to us by their therapist and know exactly what they need. Many others have extensive medical knowledge, but many also buy "on suspicion" without really knowing exactly what they need. For these customers, it would make a lot of sense to first determine their exact needs and possible deficiencies. Customers who buy a test from us are offered a short health consultation with a nutritionist to clarify what would be the best product for them.
In addition, they receive a 10% voucher for their first purchase after receiving their test result. And we are happy to put them in touch with the expert therapists with whom we are in contact. As a retailer, we are only allowed to provide limited information, even though we are qualified to do so. This is regulated by law because of the conflict of interest between sales and therapy, which is why doctors, for example, are not allowed to sell medicines or vitamins.
