Laboratory chemical analysis to determine the concentration of the neurotransmitter serotonin in urine
Serotonin is a neurotransmitter — a messenger substance that conveys information between our nerve cells. It is found in the nervous system, as well as in the gastrointestinal tract and in platelets. The functions of serotonin are diverse and underline its importance for our well‑being. For example, serotonin influences our mood, sleep, pain perception and appetite. Above all, its effect on our emotional state explains the colloquial term "happiness hormone".
The production of serotonin can be influenced by diet. The amino acid L‑tryptophan supports this process, initiating the intermediate step to 5‑HTP. In addition, it can be enhanced by co‑factors such as vitamin B6, magnesium and iron.
The serotonin urine test provides information about the presence of serotonin in the urine through modern laboratory chemical analysis. This therefore constitutes an important step in the diagnosis of any potential serotonin deficiency and its treatment.

How does the ordering process work?
After placing your order, the requested test package with detailed instructions will be sent to you. You place your sample in a sample container, send it in the prepared envelope to Medivere's partner laboratory GANZIMMUN Diagnostics GmbH and will receive a report with an assessment of your profile after 5–7 days.

Achieve better results with sensible diagnostics!
Around 50% of our customers are referred to us by their therapist and know exactly what they need. Many more have extensive therapeutic knowledge, but many also buy on a hunch ("just in case") without really knowing the details. This is regulated by law because of the conflict of interest between sales and therapy; for example, doctors are not allowed to sell medicines or vitamins.
