Laboratory analysis to determine the vitamin B12 concentration in urine
Vitamin B12, as one of the B vitamins, is involved in a variety of important processes in the body. It contributes to a normal energy metabolism, normal nervous system function, normal psychological function and normal immune system function. Vitamin B12 is predominantly found in animal products, so people following an animal-free diet in particular pay attention to ensuring an adequate supply. Because the vitamin is absorbed through the small intestinal wall, people with chronic intestinal problems are also advised to ensure careful supplementation.
Whether a vitamin B12 deficiency is present can be determined by a simple urine test followed by laboratory analysis. The Medivere vitamin B12 urine test analyses the methylmalonic acid status. Methylmalonic acid is an indirect indicator of a vitamin B12 deficiency. If too little vitamin B12 is present in the body, increased excretion of the acid occurs.

How does the ordering process work?
After your order, the requested test kit will be sent to you with detailed instructions. You place your sample in a sample container, send it in a prepared envelope to Medivere's partner laboratory GANZIMMUN Diagnostics GmbH and will receive a report with the evaluation of your profile after 5-7 days.
