Laboratory analysis to determine vitamin D status
Vitamin D is important for bones, muscles and the immune system. This fat-soluble vitamin plays a role in numerous metabolic processes, such as regulating calcium levels and the mineralisation of teeth and bones. It also contributes to nerve signal transmission and supports the muscles and the immune system.
The body can only produce sufficient vitamin D through photochemical synthesis if there is adequate exposure to sunlight. Depending on the time of year and time of day, 5 to 25 minutes of sunlight per day are required to achieve this. In autumn and winter, the duration and intensity of sunlight decrease. Almost 60 per cent of the population in Germany do not achieve the target vitamin D concentration required to benefit from its protective effects.
The EsKiMo study, conducted by the Robert Koch Institute and the University of Paderborn, investigated children’s nutrient intake. In the 6–11-year-old age group, 100 per cent of participants fell below the daily nutrient intake recommended by the German Nutrition Society. Studies in adults also indicate a deficiency in vitamin D – particularly during the winter months.

A test can give you certainty as to whether you have sufficient vitamin D. The results form the basis for personalised advice from your dietitian, doctor or naturopath. Self-treatment involving the independent intake of vitamin D should only be undertaken if you have a very good understanding of medicine or naturopathy and there are no other complicating medical conditions or laboratory findings.

Reaching your goal better with sensible diagnostics!
Around 50 % of our customers are sent to us by their therapist and know exactly what they need. Many others have extensive medical knowledge, but many also buy "on suspicion" without really knowing exactly what they need. For these customers, it would make a lot of sense to first determine their exact needs and possible deficiencies. Customers who buy a test from us are offered a short health consultation with a nutritionist to clarify what would be the best product for them.
In addition, they receive a 10% voucher for their first purchase after receiving their test result. And we are happy to put them in touch with the expert therapists with whom we are in contact. As a retailer, we are only allowed to provide limited information, even though we are qualified to do so. This is regulated by law because of the conflict of interest between sales and therapy, which is why doctors, for example, are not allowed to sell medicines or vitamins.
