Arginine is required by the body for the formation of proteins, collagen, elastin, haemoglobin, insulin and glucagon. It enhances thymus activity and wound healing and increases insulin production.

L-Arginine favours a good oxygen supply to the muscle and plays an important role in growth; furthermore, it regulates and supports the key components of the immune system and has a major influence on male fertility and potency. It is also involved in fat burning and the healthy regulation of fat metabolism.
Arginine is involved in the release of human growth hormone from the pituitary gland, of insulin from the pancreas and of noradrenaline from the adrenal glands.
For infants and children arginine is an essential amino acid, for adults a non-essential amino acid. The requirement can be met either through diet or by synthesis in the body.
