Bromelain refers to active protein‑splitting enzymes that are extracted from pineapple. Among indigenous peoples, pineapples were used primarily to aid digestion. This product contains no animal ingredients and relies 100% on the power of nature. Therefore it is also ideal for vegans.
The highest bromelain content is found in the pineapple core, which is usually discarded. So it’s worth eating this part as well if you like pineapple! As enzymes are heat‑sensitive, of course only fresh fruit should be used, not canned pineapple.
The timing of intake makes a difference.
If the tablets are taken with food, e.g. with a heavy lunch, the enzymes help with digestion. They are consumed and excreted and do not enter the bloodstream.
If taken at a greater interval from meals, they can unfold their further benefits within the body.
