Multivitamins and minerals for children

Multivitamin fruit powder for children has the advantage that it is readily accepted even by children who are fussy about taking tablets and capsules, or it can simply be stirred into food, such as fruit yoghurt.
The amounts of vitamins and minerals are optimised to meet children’s needs. Furthermore, the powder form makes it easier for parents to adjust the quantities precisely. Capsules are rigid, and tablets can at best be split; with powder, parents can give their child exactly the amount they want, down to the milligram.

Vitamins and minerals come in various chemical forms and from different sources. Many children’s products contain harmful substances such as sweeteners or sugar. Multi-Kids by Natur Vital contains none of these.
There is also a significant difference between consuming these in a cheap, poorly absorbable form and in the form of very high-quality compounds. Very cheap products from chemists, supermarkets and, unfortunately, often from pharmacies too, contain these substances but are nevertheless often expensive, which is how the industry exploits parents’ lack of knowledge.
Multi-Kids by Natur Vital contains only the very best ingredients. Examples include:

• Cheap vitamin B12 = cyanocobalamin (note that the word ‘cyanide’ is already in the name…). Vitamin B12 from Natur Vital = the high-quality and expensive methylcobalamin
• Cheap folic acid = folate (which around 50 per cent of people cannot utilise at all due to a specific metabolic condition). The folic acid in Multi-Kids contains the best compound that anyone can absorb, as it is already in a form ‘suitable for the body’: 5-MTHF.
• Cheap calcium = calcium carbonate (the cheapest form of calcium, very popular in low-cost dietary supplements). This powder contains the branded raw material MCH-Cal™ from New Zealand. This is hydroxyapatite, just as it occurs in bone and can be directly utilised by the body. The source is the bones of healthy New Zealand pasture-raised cattle. This branded raw material also contains type I collagen, which is likewise found in bone. Thus, whilst at first glance Multi-Kids does not appear to contain much calcium – at 150 mg per daily serving – this is utilised very effectively, as studies prove (see below). It makes more sense to have a small amount of calcium that goes straight into the bones than to take high doses of calcium, e.g. as calcium carbonate, which is not utilised as effectively and can also be deposited in the arteries as calcification!
• Vitamin K is also important for this, and is included here as the high-quality branded raw material vitaMK7®. This not only ensures healthy blood clotting – which is important, for example, for rapid wound healing should a child fall and hurt their knee – but also prevents calcium from ending up where it shouldn’t, namely in the artery walls.
• Iron fumarate is well tolerated. People with very sensitive systems can experience stomach ache from cheap iron compounds. Iron fumarate does not cause such problems.
• Vitamin B6 is present in its best form, P5P.
• Inulin, used as a carrier and bulking agent, is important for nourishing healthy gut bacteria and is therefore prebiotic.
• Various fruit powders ensure a pleasant taste; these naturally also contain the beneficial vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals found in these fruits.

Recommended intake

Children aged 4 and over: 2 measuring spoons; children aged 10 and over: 4 measuring spoons, stirred into drinks or yoghurt three times a week. A measuring spoon is provided in the jar.
