Vitamin D for healthy bones and a strong immune system

Vitamin D is also known as the "sun vitamin". This is because vitamin D can only be produced in the body through exposure to sunlight. Normally, with sufficient time spent outdoors, requirements can be easily met. However, if you spend little time in daylight for extended periods or this is only possible to a limited extent for seasonal reasons, vitamin D deficiency can occur. Vitamin D3 WholeFood supports vitamin D supply and, due to WholeFood, is particularly well absorbed.

Current note on dosage

The reference values for adults for vitamin D were recently raised significantly by the DGE, from 5 µg to 20 µg! Accordingly, one capsule therefore contains 250% of the daily requirement according to the DGE. However, because internet shops still have to comply with the scientifically outdated nutrition labelling regulation, we must state 1000% in our nutrition table!
Here is the current DGE recommendation from 2012.

According to the DGE, adolescents and adults obtain only 2 to 4 µg of vitamin D per day from food. This means the estimated intake value is far from reached. The "rest" (around 16 to 18 µg of vitamin D) must be covered by vitamin D production in the skin – that is, by frequent time spent outdoors.

People who spend a lot of time outdoors (athletes, postmen, forestry workers, dog owners …) are therefore likely to meet their vitamin D needs "naturally".

People who cannot do this (office workers, hospitality staff, seniors with limited mobility, bedridden people, couch potatoes …) are well advised to have their vitamin D level checked at their next lab test with their GP and to correct any deficiency. Diseases caused by vitamin D deficiency are diverse and can be serious.

Recommended intake

Take 1 tablet every 3 days.
