Vitamin A to directly supply the body with retinol
Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin that is stored in the liver. Each capsule contains 5000 IU of retinol palmitate.
Most dietary supplements labelled as containing vitamin A actually contain beta-carotene. Vitamin A is then produced in the body from beta-carotene. The advantage of this is that an overdose is not possible in this case. The body only takes from the beta-carotene what it needs to meet any increased requirement for vitamin A.
Important information on dosage
Vitamin A is one of the few vitamins and minerals that must be dosed with some caution. A significantly increased intake of vitamin A is harmful, particularly for pregnant women. For this reason, many manufacturers avoid offering vitamin A in its ‘pure’ form, such as retinol palmitate, and prefer to use carotenoids instead, as these cannot lead to a vitamin A overdose even if taken in excessive amounts. However, this can only happen as a result of gross misuse by the person taking the supplement. The UL (Upper Limit) is 3000 µg! The Upper Limit is the maximum amount that can be taken daily over the long term without harming the body.
Please note! The upper limit for children is lower. If you wish to give Natur Vital vitamin A capsules to anyone under the age of 18, the Recommended intake of 1–2 capsules does not apply, of course!
Upper limits by age:
1–3 years: 800 µg
4–6 years: 1100 µg
7–10 years: 1500 µg
11–14 years: 2000 µg
15–17 years: 2600 mg
Good reasons to choose vitamin A over beta-carotene!
If vitamin A is taken sensibly – that is, in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommended intake or the therapeutic advice of your doctor, alternative practitioner or nutritionist, and whilst observing the upper limit – it is completely safe. As it is a vitamin, it can even be regarded as essential. In the body, it has the advantage that it can be utilised immediately and does not first need to be converted. The photoreceptor cells in the eye and the skin require pure vitamin A, not beta-carotene! Furthermore, the warnings applicable to beta-carotene – particularly those concerning smokers – do not apply to vitamin A. Due to the body of research on cancer in smokers, suppliers of dietary supplements have for years been obliged to include a warning label if a product contains more than 2 mg of beta-carotene. There is no such warning for vitamin A! There are also studies on the differing efficacies of vitamin A and beta-carotene. It has been found, for example, that the effect of vitamin A on the skin is significantly more pronounced than that of beta-carotene. A product containing pure vitamin A is therefore fully justified from a nutritional science perspective. If used sensibly in accordance with the recommendations, we believe it is preferable to a ‘beta-carotene-vitamin A’ product.

By integrating them into a natural nutrient matrix of the plant or lactic acid bacteria, the micronutrients are present in a natural combination and ensure the best possible biological availability in the body. They therefore only need to be taken in low doses and are extremely well tolerated.
Natur Vital products are hypoallergenic and contain no unnecessary additives or excipients. They are free from wheat, gluten, soya, lactose, sugar, synthetic colourings and sweeteners, flavourings and preservatives.
