GABA Plus – optimised with vitamin B6
GABA stands for gamma-aminobutyric acid. It is classified as a non-proteinogenic amino acid, as it is not involved in the building of proteins but acts on its own. GABA is one of the most common neurotransmitters in the brain, accounting for around two thirds. There, GABA acts as an inhibitory neurotransmitter, meaning it has a suppressive effect and thus contrasts with excitatory neurotransmitters, which promote excitation.
GABA is therefore not only popular as a companion to a well-established evening routine; it also offers excellent support as an inhibitory neurotransmitter in a fast-paced everyday life.
Because GABA cannot cross the blood–brain barrier, it only reaches the brain via the pituitary gland. This occurs in small amounts. WOSCHA GABA Plus is therefore supplemented with vitamin B6, which has been shown to contribute to normal psychological function and to the normal functioning of the nervous system. The active form of vitamin B6 is used – pyridoxine-5-phosphate. This is up to 10 × more effective than the inactive form.

High-quality formulations from the Netherlands
The products of podo medi are largely influenced by the naturopathic experience of its co-founder Wolfgang P. Schallmey.
