100 mg pure 5‑HTP from the African black bean (Griffonia simplicifolia)
As a high-quality natural product it has high bioavailability. Vitamins B1 and B6 support the normal function of the psyche and the nervous system. The preparation is free from additives. It is therefore well tolerated, vegetarian and vegan. Please note that 5‑HTP is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women and for people taking antidepressants.
The importance of serotonin
Serotonin is synthesised by the body itself from the amino acid tryptophan
via the intermediate 5‑HTP. The “happiness hormone” is
one of the most important neurotransmitters. It regulates
signal transmission in key areas of the brain and
influences our mood, our sleep and our appetite.
As our diet contains hardly any serotonin, deficiencies can only
be corrected by supplementation.
It has been shown that 5‑HTP is considerably more effective than
tryptophan.
The majority of 5‑HTP is metabolised to serotonin by so‑called enterochromaffin cells in the gut. The serotonin formed is released into the bloodstream but cannot cross the blood–brain barrier. Therefore, in the brain specialised nerve cells are responsible for the conversion of 5‑HTP into serotonin.

Take 1–2 EMBO‑CAPS® preferably before bedtime on an empty stomach with plenty of liquid.
Manufacturer’s warnings
Do not use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Do not use in combination with medicines that affect brain metabolism, such as antidepressants and sedatives. Not suitable for children under 3 years of age.

5‑HTP is a potent substance. When taking larger amounts it can quickly cause nausea. Therefore beginners should definitely start with small amounts. 100 mg per capsule is only recommended for people who are familiar with the substance and know that they tolerate this amount. For beginners we recommend the lower‑dosed 5‑HTP by Natur Vital.
