Propolis is also known as bee glue
Bees use it to build their hives. As the name suggests, propolis consists mainly of tree resin. It also contains wax and pollen, which combine to form a sticky substance. This is used to seal cracks and create a kind of lining in the hive’s passages and entrance area.
Thanks to its unique composition, propolis has also been used by humans for decades. It is particularly valuable due to the flavonoids, essential oils, enzymes, amino acids, minerals and trace elements it contains.
